Bronze Age Spider-Man Podcast reviews debut of black costume.
May 1984 was a watermark month for Spider-Man, as he debuted in his famous new black costume! The Spider-Cast gang discusses three different versions of the same scene (a rare occasion), compare the new costume to the classic, and decipher the identity of the man in the moon.
Spidey acquired his mysterious new threads during his adventure on the Beyonder’s world (detailed in Secret Wars #1-12). Amazing Spider-Man #252 (Roger Stern/Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz, Brett Breeding) begins the Alien Costume Saga, spilling over into Marvel Team-Up #Marvel Team-Up #141 (David Michelinie/Jim Owsley, Greg LaRoque, Mike Esposito) + Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #90 (Al Milgrom + Jim Mooney).
Special Guest Mike DeVivo joins Mike-EL, Joshua Murr-VELL & G.I.Jolie for the beginning of a bold new direction for Spidey…and for Here Comes The Spider-Cast!
