Reset #1
Story and Art by Peter Bagge
Dark Horse Originals

Reset is the first series in a line of books that Dark Horse will be releasing in it’s new ‘Originals’ project. With a specific bent on featuring original, creator owned stories. Peter Bagge, who is well-known in the underground comix scene is the first one out of the gates.

Reset is the familiar story of a washed-up celebrity who flourished in their hay day but finds themselves floundering in some form of rehab… and broke as hell to boot. Guy Krause is our surly celebrity curmudgeon du jour who gets head hunted for a special program by an enigmatic female character who Krause initially meets in rehab. I don’t want to say too much more as it might give the rest of the issue away, but I can say that Krause, who is less then receptive to the tests, is developed into a character that we don’t often get to see outside stories written by the likes of Harvey Pekar or Chester Brown.

The story plays out like a Woody Allen comedy all in black and white, and ends with a bit of a twist. It will change your mind about Krause and hopefully make you wonder what Bagge has planned for him next. I know I’ll definitely be pickin gup the next issue to find out!
