This long weekend is turning out to be Super… Powered! Keep reading to find out more about Canadian Crusaders

First off, Happy Canada Day! On this day in 1867 you were born, and can I say, you don’t look a day over 143 ๐Ÿ˜›

Since our show is available internationally, I want to take this chance to remind everyone out there about some of the great things that Canada is known for:

Aboriginal Canadian Art Canadian Poutine Banfff National Park Canadian Coin Currency Neo in The Matrix X-men's Wolverine
(l-r: Great Canadian Art, Exotic Dishes, Beautiful Landscapes, Funny Money, The One, and Wolverine)

Actually, since I mentioned it I had started to wonder if there were any other Canadian Superheroes out there –this is a website for a comic book television show after all. Joining our previously mentioned King of all Claw in the pantheon of Canadian heroics is one man that you may have heard about. He (and his boyfriend) made quite an inspirational splash in the news and in the comics these past few weeks –he being none other then, Northstar. You may remember him from his recent Marvel-ous nuptial celebration in Astonishing X-men #51. As it just so happens, Northstar is also part of an ALL-Canadian super team called Alpha Flight whose current roster is as follows: Aurora, Guardian, Marrina, Northstar, Puck, Sasquatch, Shaman, Snowbird, Vindicator.

John Byrne's Alpha Flight

…and that’s it. Really? With all those comic books lining the shelves these days, you’d think that there would be more hailing from the Great White North.

Not satisfied at all, I did do some more digging and managed to unearth some more spandexed-Canucks, but these fighters don’t come from the comics. Check out this video for a web-series called Heroes of the North and watch as they protect this great snowy Land from the evil agents of MEDUSA and their *GASP* Separatist Agenda?!?

You can see ALL episodes of this pretty harrowing webseries as well as origin stories and other extra content on their website HeroesOfTheNorth.com I suggest checking out Fleur-de-Lys, she’s fast becoming my favourite!
